Mike Weber will talk about Communities for a Lifetime legislation, passed by the Minnesota Legislature in May. He will address how the legislation will help communities address the issues of an aging population. Bob Roepke will discuss the vision and leadership that communities need to create Communities for a Lifetime. Mill City Commons, a downtown community, features a unique way of meeting the lifelong health and lifestyle needs of older members. River Bluffs Village is an example of a membership-based, independent-living model featured in four suburban communities of the Twin Cities. Mill City Commons and River Bluffs Village are local initiatives that use a Beacon Hill model for aging in place.
