Basics of Conducting a Focus Group

Offers information on developing and facilitating a focus group.

In a focus group, you hold a dialogue with 6 to 10 people at the same time about a particular topic. A focus group can help you assess a target groups' response to a new idea or evaluate the quality of your services. This tool walks you through preparing for a focus group, developing questions, planning the session, facilitating the session, and taking steps immediately following the session.

Getting There Discussion Guide

The television series called “Getting There,” co-sponsored by the Minnesota Board on Aging and AARP. The eight-week series, to be broadcast on Twin Cities Public Televisions’ Minnesota Channel, is about aging issues, with topics ranging from Technology and fitness to Medicare and transportation. Use this helpful Discussion Guide (large font guide) to facilitate a conversation around thirteen of the videos. Helpful tips, questions, and additional resources are available in the guide.
